Making jewellery out of recycled materials.

We are constantly hearing that we need to reduce littering and recycle. There is a great recycling center and many return and earns in my local community. To find one in your local area check out your local counsel face book page or website.

Before you recycle your rubbish in the traditional way please stop and ask yourself "Can I reuse or turn this item into something new?"

When I first started TJ handmade I was creating jewellery from household products like beer bottle tops and can ring pulls.

When my sister and I were younger we loved to collect stuff (to be honest I still do ) Mum said unless we could turn the Coles and Woolworths minis/ooshies into something useful she would be disposing of them. That's how I started making the Minis earring range. These are a lightweight fun products that turned potential landfill into a usable fashion accessory.

When my sister uses high flow acrylic paints, I pour the over flow paint from the drip tray into beer bottle tops. This makes colorful pendants. Another example of turning something that was going to be wasted in a useable and beautiful items.

Everyone has that box of old jewellery that is either out of fashion or broken but still has a sentimental meaning, rather than leave these in a box or throw them out I am happy to restring, fix or recreate a new piece for you. Please reach out for a quote, remember reuse and recycle.

I pride myself on coming up with new and fun ways to reuse materials and I am  only limited by my imagination. I challenge you to create your own masterpieces using recycled materials.

Together we can reduce landfill and make a difference to this planet we live on.
